SHORT-TERM CARE
A Trusted Break for Families and Caregivers
Caring for a loved one with a disability is meaningful work — and it’s also work that never really stops. Respite Services give families and primary caregivers a planned break, while the person they care for continues to receive attentive, professional support.
Care can be provided in the person’s own home or at one of Progress Unlimited’s licensed residential sites. Every stay is built around the individual — their routines, their preferences, their health and support needs — so the break is genuinely restorative for everyone.
Where: In the person’s home or a PUI licensed site

HOW IT WORKS
Care You Can Count On
01 Built Around the Person
Before a respite stay begins, our medical and behavioral team meets with the person and their family to build a plan of care — routines, medications, communication preferences, and the kind of support that will make the stay feel familiar.
02 Trained, Trusted Staff
Respite staff complete every DDA-required course — medication certification, CPR, First Aid, Mandt, Fatal Five, Trauma-Informed Care, and ongoing in-service training matched to the people they support.
03 Daily Life Continues
Receiving respite doesn’t mean stepping away from other services. People can still attend Day Habilitation or other programs on the same day, as long as the schedules don’t overlap.
04 Licensed and Accountable
Our residential sites are licensed by OHCQ, and we never exceed the licensed capacity of a site. Every service interaction is documented and available to licensing authorities on request.
