Community Day Habilitation
COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMS
Learning, Exploring, and Growing Together
Community Development Services are based in the community at large. Participants seek to learn and experience all the community has to offer by joining clubs and programs, taking day trips, and volunteering and interacting with other community members.
Participants learn new skills and share experiences in a fun, self-paced environment which fosters an appreciation for oneself and others. The program launched in 2017 and has grown into one of PUI’s most dynamic offerings.
Setting: Community-based — not facility-based
Pace: Self-directed, tailored to individual interests

What Makes This Program Different
01 Community-First Approach
This isn’t a facility-based program. Everything happens in the real world — in neighborhoods, parks, organizations, and businesses where participants are active members of the community.
02 Self-Paced & Interest-Driven
Participants choose what they want to explore. The program adapts to individual interests and energy levels, creating a genuinely personalized experience.
03 Real Connections
Participants build friendships, interact with community members, and develop social skills through genuine shared experiences — not simulated activities.
04 Growth Through Experience
From volunteering to day trips to joining local clubs, every activity is an opportunity to learn something new, build confidence, and develop greater independence.
